To open the final day of play, the Burlington School Spartans offense got going early and often in their 84-62 win over the Raleigh Millbrook Wildcats. They poured in 49 points in the first half behind 19-for-28 shooting and knocking down 11 threes. Just when Millbrook thought the Spartans would cool off, Burlington stayed hot through the break and drilled five more threes in the second half.

Despite the 1-2 record during the tournament, the Spartans were extremely competitive and battled throughout all three games. This afternoon, they had four players in double figures led by senior guard Drew Johnson’s 20 points. junior guard Julian Lowe finished with a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds.

Millbrook was hot early in the game, scoring 23 first quarter points and even taking a lead to the second but could not sustain it for the remainder of the game. Junior forward Josh Conti continued his impressive tournament finishing with a game high 23 points. Sophomore guard Matt Kuppinen chipped in with 18 points as well.

Each team will get a much-needed break with a week off before they resume play in the new year.
