The tradition rich Baltimore MD St. Frances Academy Panthers fought through an intense third place game to take home a 67-62 win against the Charlotte Mallard Creek Mavericks. The game was a toss up, with each team trading runs back and forth for its entirety. The Mavericks took control early, but a fast comeback resulted in the 33-33 tie as the teams went into the halftime break.

Both teams continued to fight, tying the game back up at 50 before Mallard Creek was able to hit a pair of free throws and go into the fourth ahead by two. Their lead wasn’t sustained long, and a physical final quarter allowed the Panthers to pull ahead. A late common foul and technical foul sent the Panthers to the line for four shots, securing their lead and winning them the third place spot.

St. Frances Academy’s game was spearheaded by Hofstra University commit Mone’t Edwards, who had 15 points for the team.

Mallard Creek was led by senior Jazmeen Stone, who finished the day with 20 points.

Both teams will continue their seasons after the break in 2026.
