Sidwell Friends (DC) Gets Close Win to Kick Off to Day Three of Holiday Invitational

Saturday morning started off with a tightly contested 55-54 game between the Washington DC Sidwell Friends Quakers and Clayton Comets. The game was close for its entirety, with a big Clayton third quarter. The teams traded baskets in the fourth, but Sidwell freshman Jadah Washington knocked down a last minute shot to get their first Holiday Invitational .

The Quakers were again without Kentucky signee Acaden Lewis and Georgetown commit Jalen Rougier-Roane so Coach Singletary had to rely on a pair of freshmen Eric Green (13 points) and Jadah Washington (10 points) as well as senior Caleb Gillus (11 points).

Clayton was led in scoring by Liberty sommit Andrew Grimes and junior Khaleil Walters, who finished with 14 points each.

Sidwell plays again Monday December 30th at 11am against the winner of Millbrook-Green Level. Clayton also plays on the 30th but will be at William Peace University at 4:30pm for 7th place of the Coby White Bracket against the loser of the Millbrook-Green Level game.
