Shorthanded Moravian Prep takes down Raleigh Enloe in Opening Day Holiday Invitational Matchup

The Moravian Prep Lions goes wire to wire in their 65-48 Wednesday afternoon win over the Raleigh Enloe Eagles in the Day’Ron Sharpe Bracket. The Eagles kept the game very competitive in the first half, trailing by only five at the break. The Lions used a 27 point third quarter to fend off the Eagles and secure a first round victory.


The Lions were without star brothers Isaac & Eli Ellis but showed off their bench depth as newcomer Amare Oba led all scorers with 21 while adding 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Senior guard Ty Burton added 16 points including 4 threes. 


Raleigh Enloe had seven players score, with Zarion Hobbs leading the Eagles with 14 points. 


Moravian Prep is back in semifinal action against the winner of Raleigh Word of God-Arden Christ School in the nightcap Thursday. Raleigh Enloe faces the loser in the Day’Ron Sharpe Bracket Consolation Game.
