Reidsville Wins Back-to-Back Holiday Invitational Titles
The Reidsville Rams are going home with another trophy for the case as they knocked off the St. Anne’s-Belfield Saints 68-61 in the Day’Ron Sharpe Bracket Championship game Monday night. In what was a tightly contested game, the Rams were able to make free throws down the stretch to come away victorious for their second Holiday Invitational Championship.
The Rams were led by a few familiar names; Dionte Neal, Kendre Harrison, and Johnniyus Sharpe. Neal, who was named tournament MVP, had a statement game finishing with 32 points and 7 rebounds. Harrison, an all-tournament selection, added a 12 point, 14 rebound double double while Sharpe tacked on 21 points.
St. Anne’s had their own three-headed monster of sorts. All-tournament selections Dz Bullock-Coles had a 15 point, 7 rebound performance while Chance Mallory paced the Saints in scoring with 17 adding 5 rebounds as well. Austin Williford was the third piece for the Saints and ended his night with 13 points and 5 rebounds.
Ravenscroft’s Chance Gladden was named tournament MOP while leading all scorers in all brackets with 91 points. Other players selected to the all-tournament team were Farmville Central’s MJ Williams, Davidson Day’s William Stevens, Broughton’s Jordan Page, and Caldwell Academy’s Cole Cloer and Jaylen Cross.
