Reidsville’s Neal steals game from Concord Cannon to advance to Holiday Invitational Championship
The Reidsville Rams were able to hold off a Concord Cannon Cougars strong second half to pull off the 73-71 overtime win.
The Rams went into halftime with a 19 point lead that was quickly erased by Cannon in the third quarter. Reidsville relied on their big three—Kendre Harrison, Dionte Noel, and Johnniyus Sharpe—to hold off the Rams comeback. Neal had 27 points in the big win and led the Rams in scoring. Harrison grabbed 17 rebounds and used his 10 offensive boards to give his team extra possessions. Sharpe displayed his athleticism on the break to get his 17 points.
The Cougars were able to get back in the game behind their star guard, Miami commit Austin Swartz and their incredible defense that held the Rams to just 20 points in the second half. Swartz finished the game with 23 points and 5 assists.
Reidsville has a chance to bring home a championship in their first ever visit to the Holiday Invitational on Saturday. Cannon will be back in action Saturday as well, looking to finish the year with a win in the Devonte Graham third place game.
