Raleigh Word of God holds on to knock off Raleigh Enloe

The Raleigh Word of God Holy Rams survive a slow start to earn a 61-49 win against the Raleigh Enloe Eagles.

The Eagles put on a strong performance out of the gates and managed to take a lead into halftime, but the holy rams for the second straight game used a huge third quarter to take a lead but held on in the fourth to come away with the victory. Word of God used their big man, Kentucky commit Jayden Quaintance, to open up scoring in the second half. Quaintance was dominant in the paint, using his 6’9” frame to finish with 14 points and 10 rebounds. The holy rams were led in scoring by Bo Hurns who finished with 15 points while adding 6 rebounds.

Owen Pederson’s 16 points led the Eagles in scoring, and his hot shooting paved the way for Enloe's early run. Jamyr Coleman added 12 points of his own for Enloe.

Word of God faces Garner in the Day’Ron Sharpe 5th place game at Holliday Gymnasium on Friday. Enloe will meet Highland (VA) in the 7th place game Friday at William Peace University.
