Oak City Prep Cruises in Opening Game of Holiday Invitational over Westover

In the first of two Thursday showcase games, the Garner Oak City Bears opened their 2024 Holiday Invitational with a 45-16 win over the Fayetteville Westover Wolverines.

The game was deadlocked at zero for the first four minutes of the game until the Bears scored the first and only 12 points of the quarter keeping Westover scoreless the entirety of the first quarter. 

Senior Sanai Cole took charge for Oak City Prep, leading the team with 14 points on an impressive 7 for 8 shooting while also adding 5 rebounds and 2 assists. 

Westover, who never held a lead during the contest, was led by Senior Tytiana Dowden, who had 8 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists. 

Oak City Prep will play again Friday, December 27th at 10:30am against NC Good Better Best National. Westover returns to play Saturday December 28th at 3pm against Chester Thomas Dale (VA).
