Morman’s last second three seals Southern win over Petersburg

The Southern Spartans pulled off a win Saturday morning in a 64-61 decision against the Petersburg VA Crimson Wave thanks to a game-winning 3-point basket by sophomore AJ Morman. It was a game of runs with both teams trading punches until Morman’s basket put his Spartans up three with .7 seconds to play.
The Morman contributed more to the Spartans than just the game winning basket finishing the day with 22 points. Senior Aden Jeffries and sophomore Jace Glaspie added 12 and 13 points respectively for Southern
The Crimson Wave had two players post double doubles. 6’8” senior Latrell Allmond scored 19 points and pulled down 12 rebounds while the other 6’8” senior Ladarius Givan had 18 points of his own to go with 10 rebounds. Sophomore Kelvin Anderson also contributed 10 points for Petersburg.
Petersburg will play early Monday morning at 9:30am against the loser of Broughton-Garner in the 7th place game of the Day’Ron Sharpe Bracket. Southern will face the winner of Broughton-Garner in the 11am, 5th place game.
