Lady Caps bounce back in close win over Northern Guilford

The Raleigh Broughton Lady Capitals fended off a last-minute comeback attempt to get the 65-61 win over the Northern Guilford Nighthawks Saturday morning in the Frances Pulley third place game.

Broughton wasted no time jumping out to a 12-3 lead before ending the first quarter up 21-10. The momentum shifted in favor of the Nighthawks in the second quarter as their offense gained some momentum and started chipping away at the lead late in the first half taking an eight point deficit to the half. They carried that momentum into the 3rd quarter cutting the Lady Caps lead to two before taking a lead with five minutes to play in the fourth. Ultimately, the Broughton offense was too much for Northern Guilford.

Both teams conclude their 2025 Holiday Invitational and look to the new year and conference play.
