Highland (VA) to Meet John Marshall in All-Virginia Coby White Final

The Warrenton (VA) Highland School Hawks had their hands full going into a semifinal matchup against the Westchester (CA) Comets but proved why they are a top team in the country with a 62-40 win. The first half of this game was tight, with Highland going into their halftime locker room up by one. Coming out of the break, the Hawks were all business coasting to the 22 point victory on their way to their first final berth in the Holiday Invitational. 

Highland's impressive win highlighted several players on their roster as three players scored in double figures and a fourth 9. Sophomore Jemal Smith led the team in points, finishing with 16.

Westchester junior Tajh Ariza led the Comets, ending his Saturday evening with 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists. Sophomore Gary Ferguson also had a strong showing with 9 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists.

Highland will meet John Marshall in the Coby White Championship game on Monday, December 30th at 6:30pm. Westchester will match up with Southern Durham on Monday at 3:30pm in the 3rd place game.
