The 2025 edition of the Holiday Invitational started off strong Friday morning with an offensive masterclass from the Greensboro Day Bengals knocking off the Millbrook Wildcats 81-49. The Bengals got off to a 21-12 lead in the first quarter and did not look back. The lead only continued to grow after halftime with the team shooting almost 60 percent from the field.

Greensboro Day senior Marty Giant was a huge catalyst in the early success for the Bengals, knocking down four three-pointers in the first half leading all scorers with 24 points. The Bengals ended the half on a buzzer beating three which put an exclamation point on their 31-7 second quarter.

After an energetic start from Millbrook, the Bengals size and depth overwhelmed the Wildcats who only had one player, junior Josh Conti, finish the game scoring in double figures. The Bengals defense allowed two single digit scoring quarters which in the end was the deciding factor. Two other Bengals finished the game with double digit scoring, sophomores Micah Gunter and Andrew Juergens.

Both teams are back in action on Monday. Millbrook will meet the loser of Spire Academy and Ambassador Christian at 2pm while Greensboro Day will look to extend their current 18 game win streak over the winner of that same game at 6:30pm.
