Greenfield Wins Battle of Titans Over Farmville Central
In a clash of last season’s 2A NCHSAA and 2A NCISAA runners up, the Wilson Greenfield Knights won a 74-68 dogfight against the Farmville Central Jaguars. The game started with a strong first quarter for Greenfield, outscoring the Jaguars 15-8. The second quarter was all Farmville as they took an 8 point lead to the locker room. It's clear they were fed some inspiring words before the third quarter began, as they came out for an impressive second half to win the game with a 74-68 lead. Coach Rob Salter said something to inspire his Knights team as they came out and had a field day in the second half on their way to the win.
Greenfield was led by sophomore Johnny Winborne (17 points, 3 rebounds) and junior Kobe Edwards (15 points, 10 rebounds).
The Jaguars were led by a pair of seniors MJ Williams and Josiha Crandell. Williams had 19 points with 3 rebounds and 2 assists while Crandell had 15 points, and 5 rebounds.
