Grace Christian Knocks Off Northern Nash, Earns Berth in TJ Warren Championship
While the Raleigh Grace Christian Eagles were able to keep control over the scoreboard for most of the game, the Rocky Mount Northern Nash Knights hung around the entire way in the 72-67 Eagles win. The Knights started to foul halfway through the fourth quarter to try to offset a 15 point deficit going into the quarter. Fortunately for the Eagles, just as it looked like Northern Nash would get it done, the final buzzer sounded.
Grace Christian was led by Marquette commit Michael Phillips, who finished with 31 points and 8 rebounds. Seniors AJ Gladieux and Malachi Tate each had 14 points of their own.
Northern Nash was carried by highly touted sophomore CJ Rosser, who had 30 points on top of his 8 rebounds.
Grace Christian returns to Broughton for the TJ Warren Bracket Championship game against Christ School on Saturday December 28th at 3:30pm. Northern Nash will play in the TJ Warren 3rd Place game the same day at 12:30pm against Knightdale.
