Gaston Christian walks away with a win in showcase game against Grimsley

The Gaston Christian Eagles defeated the Greensboro Grimsley Whirlies 51-41 in the third and final showcase of the 2025 John Wall Holiday Invitational Saturday afternoon at Southeast Raleigh High School.
The Eagles came out of the gates firing, gaining a fast 17-5 lead to top off the first quarter. Both teams slowed the pace of the second quarter, but ultimately the outcome remained and Gaston Christian went into the half up 27-14.
The Whirlies came out of the locker room swinging, putting up a 16 point third quarter to pull the deficit to seven going into the fourth quarter. Unfortunately for the Whirlies, they just didn’t have time to overcome the lackluster first half and drop their lone game in the tournament while the Eagles win both games they played.
