Deep Creek Maintains Lead Over Ravenscroft to Win Day 3 Game

The Friday morning game between the Chesapeake (VA) Deep Creek Hornets and the Raleigh Ravenscroft Ravens proved to be a pretty straightforward win for the Hornets, as they were able to score 53 points while holding the Ravens to only 28 points. Although the Ravens were able to up their game in the second half, they weren’t able to compete with the Hornets scoring.

The Hornets showcased their depth with 4 players scoring in double figures. It’s hard to argue that junior Alaya Monroe wasn’t the star of this game, as she was able to secure a double double with 11 points and added an impressive 18 rebounds. Their leading scorer, sophomore Cherish Brehon, had 13 points, with sophomores Morgan Herbert (11 points) and Kimora Hinton (10 points) each contributing as well.

Ravencroft’s effort was once again led by senior Ellie Cronin, with 11 points and 5 rebounds.
