The Davidson Day Patriots came out of the gates ready to redeem themselves Monday afternoon in their 69-57 win against the Burlington School Spartans (TBS). Both teams held their own throughout the first quarter, jumping to a fast 19-16 lead for the Patriots. The Spartans were not letting them off easy though and outscored them by two in order to enter halftime down only one. Davidson Day responded with a game defining second half, pulling ahead 8 in the third quarter then sealed the deal in the fourth. Both teams finished perfect from the free throw line, the Patriots going 9 for 9, and TBS going 10 for 10.

Davidson Day was led by sophomore Xavier Hall, who had 20 points and 7 rebounds. Sophomore Sherod McCormick III and senior Will Stevens were also integral to their win, with 16 and 12 points respectively.

TBS junior Julian Lowe had 18 points and 5 rebounds for the team, shooting 4 for 4 from the free throw line. His efforts for the Spartans were not alone, as Junior Karon Watlington had 12 points, senior Geren Holmes had 11, and senior Drew Johnson had 9, shooting 5 for 5 from the free throw line himself.

The Patriots will continue on to their next game Tuesday at 12:30pm against the winner of Millbrook-Ambassador Christian. Burlington will play for the 7th place spot in the Coby White Bracket Tuesday at 11am against the loser of that same game.
