Charlotte Myers Park offense overwhelms Garner

The Myers Park Mustangs had four players finish with double digit points in their 66-38 win against the Garner Trojans. 

The Myers Park Mustangs were just too much for the injury-depleted Garner Trojans in Wednesday’s 66-38 win in the Day’Ron Sharpe Bracket of the 2023 John Wall Holiday Invitational. 

After a tight first quarter, Myers Park, led by junior forward Sadiq White, had four players finish with double digit points. White finished with 21 points and 9 rebounds with senior Bishop Boswell adding 15 points.

Garner, who was missing Darius Whitner and Cam’ren Reyes today, were paced in points by senior guard Tayshuan Whitner with 15. Junior Ghabrial Scott added team highs in rebounds and assists with 5 and 4 respectively for the shorthanded Trojans.

Myers Park faces the winner of Raleigh Millbrook-Warrenton VA Highland on Thursday in a semifinal matchup of the Day’Ron Sharpe Bracket. Garner will play in a consolation game on against the loser of Raleigh Millbrook-Warrenton VA Highland game.
