The Charlotte Myers Park Mustangs showed why they are the favorite to repeat as NCHSAA 4A state champions as they put on an offensive show against the Raleigh Millbrook Wildcats in an impressive 80-46 win.

The Mustangs jumped out to a 28-6 lead by the end of the first quarter and never stepped off the gas. All five Mustangs starters finished with double digit points led by senior

Sir Mohammed’s 25 points. Mohammed added 9 rebounds while Bishop Boswell tacked on 14 points and 8 rebounds of his own.

Millbrook struggled offensively the entire game, shooting only 28% from the field. Their versatile guard, Colt Langdon, led the Wildcats with 15 points.

Millbrook is back in action Saturday at Broughton against the loser of Arden Christ School-Hudson Moravian Prep in the third place game. Myers Park will play the winner in the Day’Ron Sharpe championship game.
