Cannon Uses Huge Fourth Quarter to Win Beat South Garner
It was back and forth for most of the game between the Concord Cannon Cougars and the South Garner Titans, until a 25 point fourth quarter pushed the Cougars to a 74-59 win. At the half, the game was deadlocked at 33. South Garner then took a one point lead going into the fourth quarter, but the Titans had nothing for Cannon’s fourth quarter onslaught.
Cannon was led by sophomore Madison Drayton who led all scorers with 20 points while adding 11 rebounds and 2 assists. Maya McCorkle and Brooke Busby were other Cougars finishing in double figures with 17 and 12 respectively.
South Garner sophomore Taylor Moore was one of the three players on the Titans scoring in double figures with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Junior Chloe Crawford had 16 points and freshman Taylor Darden had 10.
Cannon will play again on Saturday, December 28th at 6pm against the winner of Princess Anne-South Shore. South Garner will draw the loser of Princess Anne-South Shore Saturday at 9am.
