Caldwell’s Fiery First Quarter the Difference in Day’Ron Sharpe 3rd Place Game
When looking at the box score, it's clear to see that the Raleigh Broughton Capitals and the Greensboro Caldwell Academy Eagles were evenly matched during most of the 63-54 Eagle Victory on Monday. The difference came from the beginning of the game rather than down the stretch. In the first quarter, Caldwell was able to outscore the Capitals 16-4 and Broughton was unable to overtake the deficit.
Caldwell junior Cole Cloer and senior Charlotte signee Jaylen Cross were the team’s leading scorers for the game, each finishing with 16 points. On top of the points, Cross recorded 10 rebounds en route to a double double.
Broughton sophomore Jordan Page was once again a force with 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists in this game. Junior Brayden Tuttle was also a key factor in the team's effort, with 12 points.
