Arden Christ School uses Big 4th Quarter to knock off Raleigh Word of God
The Christ School Greenies rallied from a 10 point second half deficit for a 60-55 win against the Word of God Holy Rams in the Day’Ron Sharpe Bracket.
Both teams came out strong, but the Holy Rams couldn’t find a way to take a first half lead. Their first lead came from their huge third quarter where they outscored the Greenies 18-4. Led by junior forward Zymicah Wilkins, the Greenies took over in the fourth quarter outsourcing Word of God 24-10. Wilkins finished the game with 21 points and 8 rebounds. Senior Jamari Briggs added 10 points of his own for the Greenies
Word of God relied on their star big man, Kentucky commit Jayden Quaintance, throughout the game. His 21 points led the Holy Rams in scoring. Junior East Carolina commit, Jordan Vick, contributed another 10 points.
Both teams are back on Thursday for their second game of the 2023 John Wall Holiday Invitational. Word of God has a chance to get back in the win column in a consolation game battle of Raleigh against Enloe while Christ School advances to a semifinal matchup against Hudson Moravian Prep.
