Spartans earn Graham consolation bracket victory vs. Holly Springs


RALEIGH -- Southern Durham used 19 points and nine rebounds from a resolute Jackson Keith to down Holly Springs, 63-56, in the consolation semifinals of the Devonte Graham bracket of the 2022 John Wall Holiday Invitational.


Following his team’s quarterfinal loss to Raleigh Millbrook, Keith promised reporters in the post-game press conference his Spartans would bounce back on Wednesday. Keith and his teammates delivered.


Although they were down 17-12 at the end of the first quarter, the Spartans won the subsequent three quarters to earn the victory.


D’Dric Rogers had 13 points to help the Spartans effort, while Camden Fletcher added 12. Southern Durham will play for fifth-place in the Graham bracket on Friday at Broughton High School.


Holly Springs was led by Collin Kuhl’s 20 points and eight rebounds, while Ryan Crotty added 15 points, five rebounds and four assists. The Golden Hawks will play for seventh place Friday at Cary Academy.
