GIRLS: Legacy finishes 3-0 in showcase games

CARY -- Legacy Early College came to North Carolina and represented well for basketball south of the border.

The Greenville, S.C. school went 3-0 in showcase games, including a 45-34 win over Winston-Salem Quality Education Academy Thursday.

The Pharaohs certainly didn’t make it easy early, jumping out to a 17-10 lead in the second quarter. The Lions roared back, closing the quarter out on a 13-1 run to lead 23-18 at the break.

Legacy Early College never trailed in the second half, going up by as many as 19.

For the Lions, Mela Hollaway had 18 points and four rebounds and Hailey Chiles added 10 points and four rebounds. For the Pharaohs, Jazlyn Harris had 13 points and four rebounds.
