Combine rolls past Greenfield in Warren quarterfinal, 81-42

RALEIGH – Lincolnton Combine Academy used a 16-0 start to their T.J. Warren quarterfinal contest with Wilson Greenfield to cruise to an 81-42 victory in the 2022 John Wall Holiday Invitational.
Despite failing to find the bottom of the basket until late in the first quarter, the Knights inched their way back behind the play of freshman Kobe Edwards. The young guard was a catalyst for Greenfield offensively, and his step-back 3-pointer late in the first quarter opened up the Knights’ scoring.
While Greenfield’s young guard was getting it going, Trentyn Flowers of Combine continued to dominate. The five-star prospect finished the first half with 14 points and flashed his multifaceted skill set — converting a three-point play inside and canning a corner 3-pointer. At the half, the Goats held a sizable lead, 37-17.
In the second half, Combine continued to have its way on offense. Whether it was junior Rakease Passmore driving to the basket or senior Collin Tanner drilling a pair of buckets from long range, the Goats continued to exploit Greenfield.
Junior Mason Hagedorn made good work with his extended minutes, as the stretch big connected on multiple 3-pointers en route to a game-high 19 points.
