Centennial cruises past Broughton, 68-43, in Wednesday's final game


RALEIGH -- Centennial High School, from Corona, Calif., had no trouble with host Raleigh Broughton in the final game of Day 2 of the John Wall Holiday Invitational, jumping out an 18-0 lead and coasting to a 68-43 victory in the Devonte Graham quarterfinals.


Centennial was led by Devin Williams’ 14 points and Jared McCain’s 11 points and eight rebounds. The Huskies will play in the Graham semifinals Thursday at 6:30 p.m. vs. Don Bosco Prep out of Ramsey, N.J.


Broughton’s loss sends them to the Graham consolation bracket, where the Capitals will take on Garner at 2 p.m. The Caps were led by Hayes Carlin’s nine points.
